The following steps are used to program a Landis & Gyr Agifon 82 USA payphone. These instructions may work for other Landis & Gyr phones, however they have not been tested on them.
To Access Programming Menu:
1 - Lift reciever with case open
2 - Push the button in the upper left hand corner (this shouldn't be an actual key, just the part of the membrane part)
3 - To advance through options, press "*" (star key)
4 - Use the below instructions to program
To Change Date:
1 - Use "#" to select day, then press "*" (star key)
2 - Use "#" to select month, then press "*" (star key)
3 - Use "#" to select day number (such as 07), then press "*" (star key)
4 - Use "#" to select year (such as 25 for 2025), then press "*" (star key)
To Change Time:
1 - Use "#" to select AM or PM, then press "*" (star key)
2 - Use number pad to key in time, then press "*" (star key)
To Change Dialing Type:
1 - Use "#" to change from DTF dialing (default) to Rotary dialing (pulse dialing) or vice-versa, then press "*" (star key)
To Allow Free Calls to Specific Telephone Numbers:
Under "FREE1": Enter telephone number, press "#", then press "*" (star key)
Under "FREE2": Enter telephone number, press "#", then press "*" (star key)
Under "FREE3": Enter telephone number, press "#", then press "*" (star key)
To Deny a Telephone Number:
Under "deny": Enter telephone number, press "#", then press "*" (star key)
To Operate on a PBX or PABX:
Under PAB1: Use number pad to key in telephone line number, press "*" (star key) or disable by pressing "#"
Under PAB2: Use number pad to key in telephone line number, press "*" (star key) or disable by pressing "#"
To Override Local Calls:
Use "#" to disable call override, or select "F" period (This function has not been determined yet)
To Turn Ringer On or Off:
Open coinbox, move switch to "ON" or "OFF" position
To Switch Phone from "Pay" to "Owner" Mode:
1 - Insert key into lock on the side of the phone
2 - Turn key into desired position
To view EPROM Version:
1 - Go to "CASH 0000XX-XX" heading
2 - Press "#"
If 9VDC power source (battery) is not present or dead, the programming of the phone is lost. If the battery is dead or not present, replace with a quality 9V battery (such as those made by Ray-O-Vac, Eveready, Mallory Duracell, or Energizer) and then re-program.
